New & Improved

Goodbye, old Whirlpool washer and dryer set. You were here for us when we purchased our home, ready and waiting to make all of our dirty clothes clean again. You did your job well enough, and I am grateful to have had you. Because of you, I never had to go to a laundromat. I never had to fold an entire week's worth of laundry all at once, or put it away all at once. The laundromat was part of my single days - I can't imagine having gone there for a week's worth of 3 people's dirty laundry. Ug! Thank you for saving me from that dread!

Hello, new Maytag front loading washing amazingness! We are able to have you due to an unfortunate event, but are happy to have you in the family. I can't wait to introduce you to all of my clothes!

Sadly, my husband's grandmother died a few years ago. Her husband (step-grandpa) recently passed away, and so my mother-in-law and her siblings have been taking care of the estate. We are the lucky recipients of Grandma Petersen's washer and dryer. As you can see, they are much nicer than the ones that came with our house. They are quite a bit larger than our old ones, and so we might not be able to put the utility area doors back on, but that is so alright. I am looking forward to using our new appliances and making our laundry room/guest bathroom look as spiffy as they are!

Chic Baby Duvet Cover

Sometimes I struggle with knowing what my next project should be. I have a ginormously long list of projects I think I may someday want to get to. I never get to any of them because I don't know which of them I should actually work on and complete. The answer is ALL OF THEM, of course. I guess I just get overwhelmed sometimes and a little scared that my project won't come out as perfectly cute or adorable as the original creator's.

Sometimes I go to the thrift stores to see if I can find any supplies to use for any one of my long long list of hopeful projects. One time, I went to a thrift store and found inspiration for a project of my very own design. It came in the form of a big, soft, light pink sheet.

It was love at first sight.Pink is my favorite color ( and now I have that song stuck in my head). The weight of the sheet was just so darn perfect I knew in an instant that it was meant to be something frilly, something chic, and something special for a little girl.

I refashioned an old sheet into an adorable and chic duvet cover for a baby girl's room. I totally want one for my own room! or my baby girl's room. Sadly, I don't have a room of my very own, nor do I have a baby girl.

It is for sale in my Etsy Shop. http://www.petitlambie.etsy.com/

Aaron Despain took the picture for me. I just got a DSLR camera and am trying to teach myself the art of photography. His awesomeness is greater than mine - at least in the picture taking department. He is a Utah Valley photographer and mostly works with families. His website is http://despain-photography.com/?pageID=622092.

(still new to this blogging thing. Anyone know how I can post a link with just a word rather than the actual entire link? I see it done all the time!)

Owl Hat Giveaway!

Have you seen these? They are all the rage!! So so cute to use as photoprops for your little one's pictures. Or just to have for them to wear. I know, it is summertime - or at least it should be and...I'm not going to complete the excuse. Cuteness is justified any time of year! And FREE is always in style.

Jump back! Did you see the word FREE? Yes. You did. Because I'm giving one away. My very first give away!!

Want one now? Even though it is supposedly summer? Here is how to enter to win a free owl hat from Petit Lambie:

1 entry for 'liking' Petit Lambie on Facebook (if you already like us on Facebook, post on our wall that you would like to be entered in the contest)

1 entry for posting a link to Petit Lambie on Facebook

1 entry for becoming a follower of the Petit Lambie blog.

Giveaway begins Wednesday, May 11, 2011 and will end on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Randomly selected person will be announced on Saturday, May, 2011.

Hat to be given away is one of the two pictured in this post. The grey one is size 12-18 months. The white sleeping owl is size 0-3 months. Both were hand crocheted by moi with love in my pet free, smoke free, drug free home studio.
Interesting note: The grey owl was made with vintage yarn. My grandmother was cleaning out some of her stash and gave me some yarn. It had a price sticker on it from Woolworth. Woolworth was a department store in my hometown. It went out of business when I was in my early teens - almost 20 years ago!! While I was crocheting this little owl hat, I remembered going to Woolworth with my dad to buy my favorite childhood toy - My Little Ponies! Thanks for the yarn, Grandma! It brought back some good memories :o)

Introducing Jaden

My littlest lamb. So sweet. Curious. He doesn't play. Nope, he investigates and tries to figure out the way things work. He has figured out the law of gravity, and that he can assist gravity in emptying our shelves. His day is not complete until he has pulled every last DVD and book off the shelf, and every tupperware container out of the kitchen cupboards.

Loves: Mama. Totally a Mama's boy. Daddy's rasberries. Remote controls. Cell phones. Especially Droids.

Doesn't like so much: Naptime. Getting his face washed. Bonking his head. Not being allowed to eat toilet paper.

Big blue eyes. Blondest blonde softest soft straightest straight hair. Big cheezy grin. Learning how to get around. This little scooter is working on learning how to run, not walk.

Spencer

Here is a little introduction of my oldest son, Spencer.

Energetic. Seriously kinestetic - the kid has to be constantly on the move. It is as though he'll blow up or spontaneously combust if he sits still for too long. A ticking time bomb.

Funny. Humor is obvious to him and he can crack a joke at any instant. He can always make me laugh.

Loves: Ducks (he can identify most types of ducks). Fish. Motorcycles. Target shooting.

Doesn't like so much: Reading (though he's good at it). Homework (though he doesn't have much).

He has the brightest blue eyes and the biggest smile to go along with his personality of awesomeness. He has a sharp mind and a warm eart. He is proud to be a big brother and is the best.big.brother. EVER. Story of cuteness demonstrating just what a fantastic big brother he is : He asked if he could share a room with Jaden. He's had his own room to himself all of his life and he wants to give it up to share with his little brother. Awe. Heart melter!

He is going to be much taller than me, but he'll always be my baby.
